ORLANDO, Fla. (April 1, 2024) – Battles were fought and the cheers of victory are still ringing through the Orange County Convention Center halls. For the 24th year, the AAU Volleyball Classic brought together some of the best teams to battle on the court for a chance to take home an AAU gold medal.
More than 2,500 volleyball athletes from 172 teams traveled to Orlando for the 2024 AAU Volleyball Classic to compete for an AAU championship gold. Teams from Florida, Alabama, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, Texas, Canada, Mexico, Virgin Islands, and Peru all showed up to compete this past weekend.
Teams were split into nine different age groups from 10 and under through 18U. Nine teams were able to claim gold this weekend. By winning at the 2024 AAU Volleyball Classic, the teams were awarded AAU championships, and earned their team a free or discounted entry to the 51st AAU Junior National Volleyball Championships.

The AAU was founded in 1888 to establish standards and uniformity in amateur sports. During its early years, the AAU served as a leader in international sport representing the U.S. in the international sports federations. The AAU worked closely with the Olympic movement to prepare athletes for the Olympic Games. After the Amateur Sports Act of 1978, the AAU has focused its efforts into providing sports programs for all participants of all ages beginning at the grass roots level. The philosophy of "Sports for All, Forever," is shared by nearly 800,000 participants and over 150,000 volunteers.
