The Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) is now accepting nominations for the 96th AAU Sullivan Award. This prestigious award has been presented annually since 1930 to the most outstanding athlete at the collegiate, Olympic, or other similar elite level in the United States. We are looking for outstanding athletes – in any sport – who achieved great success on the national or international stage during 2025 (2024-2025 and 2025-2026 season apply).
Winners have achieved great success on a national and/or international stage through competition in collegiate athletics, Olympic pursuit, or similar high-profile competitions. The AAU Sullivan Award is presented to the athlete who has demonstrated the most athletic success - as well as leadership, character, and sportsmanship - while competing in their sport.
To nominate an athlete for the 96th AAU Sullivan Award:

Las year, Nebraska Volleyball star, Lexi Rodriguez, captured the award. Other prior winners of this historic award include Caitlin Clark (basketball), Carl Lewis (track and field), Michael Phelps (swimming), Breanna Stewart (basketball), Shawn Johnson (gymnastics), Peyton Manning (football), Kyle Snyder (wrestling), Michelle Kwan (figure skating), and Carissa Moore (surfing).
Voting for the award will open later in February. Finalists will attend a ceremony at the historic New York Athletic Club on April 7, 2026.
