Eachus was inducted for her many years of contributions to youth and high school basketball in Philadelphia

Philadelphia, PA (September 21, 2024) - Middle Atlantic AAU Governor Alison Eachus was inducted into the Philadelphia Black Basketball Hall of Fame (PBBHoF) for her contributions to youth and high school basketball in the area. A gym teacher and a basketball coach for William Penn High School from 1972-2006, Eachus helped generations of Philly basketball players grow while making the team a perennial championship contender. She also coached AAU basketball with the Philadelphia Belles.

“I am honored and grateful to accept this most prestigious induction into the Philadelphia Black Basketball Hall of Fame. I would like to thank everyone who had a part in making this possible” said Alison Eachus, Middle Atlantic AAU Governor during her induction speech.

The PBBHoF was established in 2017 to recognize and celebrate key figures who through basketball have achieved great feats, mentored countless athletes to grow to their full potential, and highlight the journeys of pioneers in the sport. It is full of major names from all corners of basketball history, with the likes Kobe Bryant, Dawn Staley, and Wilt Chamberlain being just a few of the names in the PBBHoF.  And after thirty-four years of coaching, it will include Alison Eachus as well.

“Coaching basketball and this award are things I will always cherish” concluded Eachus at the end of her speech.

The AAU congratulates Alison Eachus on this significant accomplishment.
