ORLANDO, Fla. - AAU Taekwondo hosted more than 925 athletes from around the country for its 2021 AAU Youth & Adult Taekwondo Virtual Winter National Championship. The event took place on Saturday, February 27, 2021 via Zoom Webinar, allowing athletes from around the nation to tune in and participate in the competition in a healthy and safe manner, as well as the comfort of their own home environment.
The successful virtual competition contested two separate events- board breaking and forms. Each event was broken down into four different skill divisions (novice, intermediate, advanced and black) and age groups (6 and 7 year olds to Adult), as well as a special needs division. Board breaking tested the athlete’s Repetitive Spin Hook, Repetitive Side Kick and Repetitive Hand Technique. Results for Board Breaking can be found here.
For the forms event, the participant could compete in Weapons Forms, Creative Forms, Traditional Forms or Black Belt Team Forms. Results for the Forms event can be found here.
