Emma began her journey with Lightning Basketball, where she developed her foundation as a skilled and determined competitor. Her time with Lightning instilled in her the values of discipline, teamwork, and perseverance that would carry her to new heights both on and off the court.
After her years with Lightning, she has built an impressive athletic career across both lacrosse and basketball.
Emma’s success led her to Boston College, one of the nation’s premier athletic institutions.
During her time at Boston College, she was a key player in the team’s 2024 National Championship Victory.
She currently plays for the USA Women’s National Lacrosse Team, representing the country at the highest level. Last summer, she starred on the USA U20 team in Hong Kong, where she helped secure a gold medal and was named MVP of the tournament.
Now in her fifth year of eligibility, Emma is competing in ACC Basketball, proving herself as a standout dual-sport athlete.
Competing in two demanding Division I sports is an accomplishment that few athletes ever achieve. Her ability to balance the rigors of academics with the demands of competing at the ACC level in both lacrosse and basketball is a testament to her unmatched determination and character.
Her story inspires current and future Lightning players by showing that the lessons learned here—commitment, resilience, and passion—can lead to extraordinary accomplishments. Emma proves that Lightning alumni are prepared not just for success in sports, but for life.
We are proud to celebrate Emma LoPinto as a true representative of what Lightning Basketball stands for: excellence, versatility, and perseverance.
