League Format

Regular Season

  • Team geography is used to form individual league divisions.
  • All teams are scheduled a minimum 10 league games (5 doubleheaders).
  • See Regular Season League Schedule >

How Many Games?
  • 5 Team Divisions - Those divisions made up of 6 teams will play 10 league games (5 doubleheaders). Week #1 match ups will be repeated on Week #5 to ensure 10 league games are given.
  • 6 Team Divisions - Those divisions made up of 6 teams will play 10 league games (5 doubleheaders)
  • 7 Team Divisions - Those divisions made up of 7 teams will play 10 league games (5 doubleheaders) except for one of the 7 teams  will play 12 league games (6 doubleheaders). This one team is required to play all 6 divisional opponents to ensure that all teams in the division receive a minimum 10 regular season league games.**

**Why doesn't each team in a 7 team division play all other 6 divisional opponents and receive 12 league games? Why does only 1 of the 7 teams play 12 games? Implemented in 2021, the answers are as follows:

  • To ensure the very large majority of teams play the same amount of league games during the regular season which better ensures that this very large majority of teams is given enough time to make up games that very often can be postponed due to inclement weather.
  • To ensure that the very large majority of the teams are qualifying for the playoffs based on the same amount of regular season league games.

League Playoffs
  • Regular season results are used to qualify teams to the League Playoffs
  • The pool play round of the League Playoffs determines which teams advance to the bracket play round.
  • Playoff qualification criteria is traditional announced a few weeks prior to the start of each age groups regular season.
