FLORESVILLE, TEXAS - The inaugural AAU JUNIOR GRASS VOLLEYBALL CHAMPIONSHIPS took place on July 24, 2021 at the Floresville Event Center in Floresville, Texas. Players competed for an AAU title in the girls 12U, 14U, 16U, and 18U divisions respectively.
The format was 4 on 4 and the competition with games starting at 7:00pm. The tournament offered a unique overall event experience as parents, family, and friends gathered to watch, tailgate, and barbeque while enjoying competitive volleyball action under the stars.
The first year of the event was successful and plans are already underway to expand the tournament by offering not only a boys divisions but also an adult coed competition.
Event t-shirts were given out and winning teams were awarded AAU medals.

The AAU was founded in 1888 to establish standards and uniformity in amateur sports. During its early years, the AAU served as a leader in international sport representing the U.S. in the international sports federations. The AAU worked closely with the Olympic movement to prepare athletes for the Olympic Games. After the Amateur Sports Act of 1978, the AAU has focused its efforts into providing sports programs for all participants of all ages beginning at the grass roots level. The philosophy of "Sports for All, Forever," is shared by nearly 800,000 participants and over 150,000 volunteers.
