Two AAU Alumni earn gold at the 2024 Paris Paralympics

PARIS (September 3, 2024) -- The road to the Paris Olympic and Paralympic Games runs through AAU. AAU Alumni are in Paris representing at the 2024 Paralympic Games! The athletes who got their start right here in AAU events are on full display in Paris on the biggest stage.

Two AAU Alumni reached new heights as they broke records and won Gold medals in Paris during the 2024 Paralympics! Morgan Stickney and Jaydin Blackwell each broke their own records on the way to capturing the top spot of the podium. In front of the world, these AAU Alumni performed at their highest level.

Morgan Stickney defended her crown in the women's 400-meter freestyle S7 this year. Returning to the top of the medal stand was special, but Stickney also broke the Paralympic record twice en route to her third overall gold medal in the Paralympic games. In the gold medal race, Stickney won by a staggering 17 seconds and cemented her name in the history books.



Jaydin Blackwell made his Paralympic debut in a major way. Under the lights, Blackwell raced to the men's 100-meter T38 gold medal and broke his own World Record on his way to the finish line. He previously set the record in July with a time of
10.72, but he saved his best for the Paralympic stage. He smashed his own record with a time of 10.64 as he raced to the top of the podium!
