AAU Hosting Inaugural "Battle of the Services" Men's Basketball Championship

AAU is hosting the first-ever “Battle of the Services” division at the AAU Men’s Basketball Championships.

ORLANDO, Fla. (July 8, 2022) – The Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) is hosting the first-ever “Battle of the Services” division at the AAU Men’s Basketball Championships. The inaugural event is taking place Saturday, July 9 through Sunday, July 10 at ESPN Wide World of Sports in Orlando, Florida.
 
Eight military bases will be competing against each other for the chance to make history as the first “Battle of the Services” title winner.
 
The teams include Eglin Air Force Base (Florida Panhandle), U.S. Army Fort Campbell (Kentucky), U.S. Army Aviation Center and Fort Rucker (Alabama), Fort Stewart-Hunter Army Airfield (Georgia), U.S. Army Fort Jackson (South Carolina), Moody Air Force Base (Georgia), Naval Station Mayport (Florida), and U.S. Army Bragg (North Carolina).

The event is garnering national television coverage. The 4 p.m. championship game on Sunday, July 10 will air live on ESPN3, and will also be broadcast on the Armed Forces Network.
