From June 15 – July 1, more than 70,000 athletes and coaches, representing 48 states, two U.S. territories, and four international countries (Canada, Colombia, Dominican Republic, and Peru), will converge on  the Orange County Convention Center (OCCC) for the 49th AAU Girls’ Junior National Volleyball Championships and AAU Boys’ Junior National Volleyball Championships.

Session 2 of the 49th AAU Girls’ Junior National Volleyball Championships has come to a close and a select group of teams are heading home as AAU National Champions. During Session 2, the best of the best for the 15u and 17u divisions were represented. Teams from across the United States traveled to the Orange County Convention Center and occupied the North, South, and West Concourse. With more than 210 courts, the action never stopped. Teams played with hopes of making it to the title game on the championship courts at OCCC and ESPN Wide World of Sports.

In between the action on the court, the fun off the court never stopped either. Session 2 was made special with the AAU Cares Dig Pink Campaign, a celebration of Father’s Day, and a 360 degree camera at the AAU Social Media booth. TikToks, videos, and memories were all made.

Pool play started off the festivities on Father’s Day, June 19. Monday was one of the staples of the AAU Junior National Volleyball Championships with the Dig Pink Campaign. As part of the AAU Cares initiative, AAU is again partnering with the Side-Out Foundation as an official Dig Pink Campaign location to raise money for breast cancer research. All participants were encouraged to wear pink for AAU’s Dig Pink Day on June 20. Session 3 will also participate on June 24. For more information on the 2022 Dig Pink Campaign, click here.

On the court, athletes were giving their all. Competition was fierce and the fans were loud. Once pool play was concluded and brackets were set, it was time to find the absolute best in each division. ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex hosted the Gold division championship play. Watch ESPN was on site and the stands were filled. At the end of the day on June 22, nine (9) champions were crowned:
