ORLANDO, Fla. (March 24, 2022) – The nets have now been dropped on the 2022 AAU Volleyball Classic after a weekend filled with excitement, intense competition, and championships earned. Cheers can still be heard all around ESPN’s Wide World of Sports Complex in Orlando, Florida, as nine teams went home with gold.
 
For the 20th year, the AAU Volleyball Classic brought together some of the best teams. Competition was held at ESPN’s Wide World of Sports Complex on March 19-20.
 
1,500 competitors across 124 total teams took to the courts. Teams representing Florida and Massachusetts all set their sights on championship gold, however nine teams stood out by the end of the day on Sunday, March 20.
 
Teams were split up into nine divisions, starting at 10 and under and going up to 18 and under. Across all 18 courts, the action was nonstop.
 
In the 10U Gold Division, Top Select 10 Elite, who won the 10U in 2021, remained the champions. Top Select 10 Elite took down GP 10 Mikaylah in 2 sets, winning 25-23 in the hard fought final.
 
The 11U Gold Division title went to GP 11 Rox. The team did not lose a single set all weekend and won the final over NVA 11 White in dominating fashion.
 
For the 12U Gold Division, GP 12 Rox followed in the 11U team’s footsteps. Winning every set over the weekend, GP 12 Rox finished off Power 12 National State in straight sets.
 
Tainas VC 13 Adidas stood atop the 13U Gold Division after taking down Driven Volleyball 13-Teal in the gold medal game. Tainas VC 13 Adidas finished the weekend with 5 wins and 0 losses.
 
Living up to their name in the 14U Gold Division, Upontop 14s Elite finished on top after beating GP 13 Rox in the final game. Upontop 14s Elite ended the weekend with 12 sets won and 0 sets lost.
 
In the 15U Gold Division, NVA 15 Black Willie won the title. The team won gold at last year’s AAU Volleyball Classic in the 14U division as well. NVA 15 Black went to 3 sets against FIVA 15U Gold in the final game, besting them 15 to 8 in the final set.
 
The 16U Gold Division also saw a tight championship game as Top Select 15 Top Blue took down GP 16 Elite in 3 sets. Top Select played up a division and were able to win the final set in the championship game 15 to 10, earning the gold.
 
GP 14 Rox stepped into the 17U Gold Division and walked as winners. The team defeated AAC 17-1 in 2 sets in the championship game. GP 14 Rox went undefeated over the weekend.
 
For the 18U Gold Division, FEVA 18-Black and ST7 18U Errea battled it out in the gold medal game. FEVA 18-Black was able to win in 2 sets with the final score being 25 to 21.
 
All winning teams have earned a free or discounted entry fee for the AAU National Championships, the West Coast Championships, or the Volleyball Festival.
