The 55th AAU Junior Olympic Games took place in Houston, Texas from July 28- August 7. The Track and Field portion saw 12,345 participants, marking it the third largest track and field event in the history of the AAU Junior Olympic Games.55th AAU Junior Olympic Games

HOUSTON, Texas - After 11-days of tough competition, the 55th AAU Junior Olympic Games drew to a close in Houston, Texas on August 7, 2021. The event, which brought more than 15,000 participants to Houston, unified the sports creating the nation’s largest multi-sport event for youth in the United States.
Thousands of athletes, parents, coaches and spectators filled the halls at the George R. Brown Convention Center, Cy-Fair Natatorium, Houston Sports Complex and Turner Stadium at Humble High School. Turner Stadium itself saw 12,345 participants from the AAU track and Field portion of the Games, marking it the third largest track and field event in the history of the AAU Junior Olympic Games.
Thirty-three (33) records were smashed this year, 19 girls and 13 boys record, well and above the only five records broke in 2020:

Friday, August 6
Lilyanna Duvra, Ocoee, FL wins the 8 and Under 200m (28.62). She broke the 8 and Under 200m record (28.29) in semi-finals. She also wins the Long Jump (13-8.25) National Record. At the 2021 Primary Championships in Satellite Beach, She won the 8 Years old Girl Long Jump (13-10.5) Meet Record and 200m (28.96) Meet Record.
Carlie Weiser, Giddings, TX, 15-16 Years Old Girl wins Shot Put (48-5) and Discus (158-0). In 2020, Carlie Weiser, Giddings, TX, 15-16 Years Old Girl won the Shot Put (44-7.5). She repeats as National Champion. She won the 14 Years Old Girl wins the Shot Put (50-8.25). She won the 13 Years Old Girls Shot Put (50-2.5) a meet record in 2018. She also won the14 Years Old Girl wins Discus (129-1) and Shot Put (51-1) both Meet Records at the 2019 Club Championships.
Carrington Harris, Buford, GA 10 Years Old Girl wins the 200m (27.49). She repeats as 200m National Champion. She won the 2019 8 and Under 200m (30.43).
Aiden Opore, Suwanee, GA 11 Years Old Boy wins the 200m (25.12). He won the 2019 9 Years Old Boys 200m (27.31) and Long Jump (15-7).
Tiana Welbon, Germantown, MI 12 Years Old Girl wins the 200m (25.19). She won the 2019 10 Years Old Girls 400m (59.37) and 800m (2:25.27).
Brayden Robinson, Red Oak, TX 13 Years Old Boy wins the 200m (22.51). He broke the 100m National Record in the semi-finals (11.09). He won the 2019 11 Years Old Boys 100m (12.01) and was on both 4x100m (48.26) and 4x400m (3:54.74) National Champion relay teams.
Kaila Jackson, Detroit, MI 17-18 Years Old Girl wins the 200m (23.34). She was also a member of the 4x100m relay team that broke the record in the prelims (44.75). She broke the 200m National Record in the semi-finals (23.01) and the 100m National Record in the Semi-finals (11.51). She won the 2019 15-16 Years Old Girls 100m (11.64).

Faith Mitchell, Houston, TX, 17-18 Years Old Girl wins the Shot Put (43-11.75). She also won the 2018 14 Years Old Girls Shot Put (47-9).
Jackson Cantwell, Columbia, MO, 13 Years Old Boy wins the Shot Put (57-11). It’s his 5th Shot Put title. He won the 8 and under Shot Put (31-10.25) in 2016, 10 Shot Put (38-11.5) in 2018, 11 Shot Put (45-2.25) in 2019, 12 Shot Put (56-7.5) in 2020 and was second in the 2017 9 Shot Put (30-6.5). He also broke the 13 Boys Discus National Record (177-6).
Jonathan Simms, Plano, TX, 14 Years Old Boy wins the 800m (1:57.32). He won 12 Year Old Boys the 800m (2:02.79) with a National Record in 2019. It’s his 4th consecutive win. He won 2016 9 years old 800m (2:19.43), 2017 10 years old 800m (2:16.44), 2018 11 years old 800m (2:11.58). All are national records at that age group.
Kaleb Young, Philadelphia, PA wins the 12 Years Old Boys 800m (2:10.45). He has also won the 10 Years Old Boys 800m (2:23.96) in 2019 and the 9 Years Old 1500m (4:48.72) in 2018.
Cyprian Reid, Ft. Myers, FL wins the 8 and under Boys 800m (2:32.45). He won the 8 and under Boys 400m (1:07.11) 800m (2:33.02) and 1500m (5:22.92) at the 2021 Club Championships in Satellite Beach.
J’Nia Simpson, Tampa, FL wins 13 Years Old Girls Shot Put (46-4.25) and Discus (117-9). At the 2021 Club Championships, She repeated as Shot Put Champion by winning the 13 Years Old Girls Shot Put Champion (44-7) Meet Record. She won the 11 Years Old Girls Shot Put in 2019 with a throw of 36-3. Her 2019 victory was also a meet record. She also won the 2019 11 Years Old Girls Discus (87-8) at the JO Games in Greensboro, NC.
Milan Moriniere, Norristown, PA, 12 Years Old Girl wins the Javelin (114-0). In 2020, She won the 11 Years Old Girls Discus (70-9).
Victor Jaimez-Solorio, Apple Valley, CA, 10 Years Old Boys wins the 800m (2:22.46) and 1500m (4:46.84). He repeats as National Champion. She broke the 11 Years Old Discus record at the 2021 Club Championships in Satellite Beach with a mark of 77-7 and also broke the 11 Years Old Girls Shot Put at the Club championships with a mark of 37-3. This also was a Club Championships meet record. She repeated as National Champion. She has now won the 2018 8 and under Girls Shot Put with a meet record (28-5.75), 9 Years Old Girls Shot Put (29-2.5) and this 10 Years Old Girls Shot Put (31-3.75). Preston Schweikert (12 Years Old) wins 1500m racewalk (9:59.19), Kaleb Schweikert (15-16 Years Old) wins 3000m racewalk (16:56.41) and Kevin Schweikert (17-18 Years Old) wins 3000m racewalk (16:38.40). Kevin Schweikert, Columbia, MO, 15-16 Years Old Boy won the 3000m Racewalk (17:17.38). He repeated as National Champion. He won the same event in 2018 with a time of 16.05.66.
Heather Durrant, Elgin, IL wins 15-16 Years Old Girls 3000m racewalk (15:06.96). In 2019, Heather Durrant, Elgin, IL won the 14 Years Old Girls 3000m racewalk (17:26.86). She repeats as National Champion. In 2018, She won the 13 Years Old Girls 3000m racewalk (15:07.85). Her time was a National Record.
Collin Wise, Columbia, MO wins his 5th racewalk title in the 14 Years Old Boys 3000m racewalk (16:27.30). He has won titles in 2019 (12 Years Old 1500m racewalk: 8:24.94), 2018 (11 Years Old 1500m racewalk: 7:34.02), (10 Years Old 1500m racewalk: 8:14.35), and (9 Years Old 1500m racewalk: 9:29.72).

D’Asia Duncan, Clemont, FL 13 Years Old Girl repeats as Pentathlon Champion (3318 points) and 80m Hurdles (14.43). She won the 2020 12 Years Old Girls 80m Hurdles (12.76). She won the 2019 11 Years Old Girls Pentathlon (2740 point) and 80m Hurdles (13.07). In 2020 the pentathlon was not contested. She is also the 2021 Club Champion in the 13 Years Old Girl 100m Hurdles (13.78), and Long Jump (17-5.25). Both were Club meet records.
