RECAP: 2021 AAU Volleyball Classic

Two days of intense competition marked the start of the AAU Volleyball season at the AAU Volleyball Classic. 2,800 athletes participated this weekend, totaling almost 9,000 people in attendance.

ORLANDO, Fla. - Two days of intense competition marked the start of the AAU Volleyball season at the AAU Volleyball Classic. Cheers of victory still echo the halls of the Orange County Convention Center (OCCC), as nine teams stood out above the rest as tournament champions.
 
2,800 athletes participated this weekend, totaling almost 9,000 people in attendance at the OCCC event, according to the OCCC. The AAU Volleyball Classic was part of large weekend of events for the Orlando area, marking the “[OCCC] business’ best post-pandemic weekend.”
 
AAU Volleyball is proud to partner with the OCCC to bring the game back in a safe and healthy manner.
 
In the 10U Gold Division, the Top Select 10 Elite came back to win the gold medal match in the third set after losing the first 25-12 to Hunter’s 10U Black. Top Select took the second, 25-20 and third set, 15-9.
 
Up on Top 11s clenched the 11U Gold division championship after powering through three sets against a tough NVA 11 White. Up on Top took set one (25-8) before falling 13-25 in set two and finishing 15-11.
 
For the 12U Gold Division, Tainas VC 12U Adidas battle point for point in their three set win over Driven 12 Teal: 25-16, 21-25, 19-12.
 
Power 13 Elite swept Gulfside 13U Prime for the 13U Gold division championship spot with a 25-19 and 25-17 win.
 
In the 14U Gold division, NVA 14 Black went undefeated in bracket play and eliminated Top Select 14 Select in the title game: 25-14, 25-20.
 
Hunter’s 15U Black dominated their side of the tournament bracket, picking up a two-set game win in each match. In the championship game, Hunter’s took a 25-10, 25-21 winner over PSVA Valdosta 15 Travel Val.
 
In the 16U Gold division, Team Colorado 16N1 had a tough road to the championship game, drawing a neck and neck semifinal game before facing CVH Select - PR 16 in the title game. Team Colorado rallied to a 25-20 win in both sets for the Gold.
 
Borinquen Coqui 17-1F swept Power 17 Elite in the 17U Gold division championships: 25-18, 25-22.
 
In the 18U Gold division, Up on Top 18s Elite Tim faced the Jellys 18Black in the championship match and came out on top with a ten point lead in both sets, 25-14, 25-15.
