ORLANDO, Fla. – As the sounds of clanging medals subside, AAU Gymnastics is proud of the results of the 2019 AAU Gymnastics National Championships here in Orlando, Florida. The event is on a yearly rotation, making the stop at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex every three years. The peak event of the 2019 gymnastic season took place June 13-16 and saw a record 2,567 gymnasts, exceeding last year’s participation by 800 athletes.

After four days of competition, AAU Gymnastics awarded 195 National Champions from 39 different sessions. In total, AAU honored 780 gold medals from the four events of the uneven bars, beam, floor exercise and vault. The full list of results can be found here.

Athletes also went beyond the competition floor by promoting ‘Kids Helping Kids’ as part of the overall AAU Cares initiative. Athletes were encouraged to participate by taking part in a “Shoe Box Decorating” project. They decorated shoe boxes in a theme, then proceed to collect small change throughout the season and bring to nationals. The hope was by collecting this small change overtime, it would continue to add up to “BIG CHANGE” in the lives of others. For more information on the AAU Cares program click here.

AAU Gymnastics also announced during the competition that the 2020 AAU Gymnastics National Championships will take place in Savannah, Georgia on June 18-21, 2020.
