RECAP: 2019 AAU Volleyball Classic

ORLANDO, FL. - On Saturday, March 30, Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) Volleyball hosted the 2019 AAU Volleyball Classic at the ESPN Wide World of Sports in Orlando, FL. Pool play saw 3,110 players, 259 teams into the single elimination round on Sunday. Roughly 5,000 spectators packed into all three venues at the Complex, marking the first time volleyball has been played in the Arena.
 
With the added tournament space, the Volleyball Classic was named a Grand Prix event, allowing winning teams to qualify into the AAU National Championships, West Coast Championships or the Volleyball Festival in June.
 
Thirty-four teams were awarded over the weekend, and nine first-place teams clinched their spot in Nationals during the award ceremony Sunday afternoon. Winners are listed below:
