To Georgia AAU Track & Field:
With much regret, we have accepted the resignation of long time friend and Director of GA AAU Track and Field (Athletics), Ed Jinks.
Ed's leadership, dedication and hard work has enabled the GA AAU Track and Field program to grow and thrive for the benefit of all children who participate in the program for the past 13 years. We are very proud and thankful of the work and goals that he accomplished and we will miss him serving as our Director. A huge thanks to Ed for all the great years of unselfish dedicated service.
Per the AAU Code, I, as Governor, must appoint a new Director to fill this void. As of this date, January 6, 2008, I am appointing Mavis Chubb to serve as GA AAU Track and Field (Athletics) Director. She has accepted this appointment and been approved by the National Athletics Chair. It is my sincerest hope that all clubs, coaches, membership and parents will join to help make this transition as smooth as possible to allow the GA AAU track and field program to proceed uninterrupted in its success.
Since the Georgia District will not have an official winter meeting this year, the Governor and Lieutenant Governor want to encourage and give the opportunity for each sport to host its own meeting so that any old and new business regarding their individual sport could be shared. GA AAU Track and Field will hold its winter meeting January 11, at 2:00 p.m. at Smyrna Parks and Recreation Center in Smyrna, Georgia.
There were many changes instituted at the national convention for this sport. Thefore, we felt it very important to offer this meeting to the track and field membership so that this information could be shared and all questions answered.
Please make it a priority for each club to send a representative.
Thank You
James Henry - Governor,
Georgia AAU |
