Carolyn L. Lambert, age 93, of Oak Brook, IL, passed away November 18, 2013. Carolyn was very well respected in her local community and in the AAU community. She was also known as the “Mother of Swimming” in Illinios. She has dedicated countless hours and devoted many years to the National AAU and the Illinois AAU District. Carolyn was a woman of wisdom, honor and kindness. She had an amazing heart and we were honored to have been able to share a part of her life. The Amateur Athletic Union of the United States, Inc., is deeply saddened by the loss of our amazing volunteer and friend. 

Funeral Arrangements are as follows: 

 Carolyn Lambert, Mother to Mark, Carol, Barb (Dan) Rezabek. Grandmother to Scott, Kyle, Chris, and Kevin. Her life will be cherished by her niece Lianne, her nephews, Larry and Stephen and their extended families, Chrissey Ciraulo, Phil Dodson, and Pete Camin. Preceded in death by her sister, Jenny. 

Family and friends will be gathering at Christ Church of Oak Brook, 501 Oak Brook Rd, Oak Brook, IL 60523, on Friday, November 22, 2013. The memorial service will begin at 10 am in the church. 

In lieu of flowers, donations to AAU High School Sullivan Scholarship Award or JDRF would be appreciated.

AAU Taekwondo Athletes Shine in Taipei City, Chinese Taipei

The International Governing Body for the Olympic Sport of Taekwondo only chose six (6) U.S. athletes to represent the United States and two (2) of those superior athletes are current AAU members Ms. Michelle Gonciarz and Ms. Kendall Yount.
