02/15/2023

The AAU 14 and Under Indoor National Championship takes place February 17-19, 2023

YPSILANTI, Mich. (February 15, 2023) – An estimated 1,000 youth track and field athletes will be at Eastern Michigan University this weekend to compete in the AAU 14 and Under Indoor National Championship.

The indoor track and field event will take place at Bowen Field House from Friday, February 17, starting at 5:30 p.m., through Sunday, February 19. Click here for the full event schedule.

This is the eighth year of the event, which will feature athletes from Michigan, Indiana, Illinois, Ohio, Kentucky, and Wisconsin, as well as states as far as Colorado and California.

“This championship was started because Michigan AAU Track and Field realized that there were plenty of meets for the high school-aged divisions, but limited competitions for the 14 and under divisions,” said Karen Hall, Meet Director. “This event is often a preview of what to expect from the 14 and Under division athletes that will attend the AAU Indoor Nationals in Virginia Beach in March and the AAU Junior Olympic Games outdoor in the summer.”

Athletes will be divided into eight age groups: 5-6 & Under boys/girls, 7-8 & Under boys/girls, 9-year-old boys/girls, 10-year-old boys/girls, 11-year-old boys/girls, 12-year-old boys/girls, 13-year-old boys/girls, and 14-year-old boys/girls.
